  • I wasn’t here yesterday in class, so here are the sub plans that I left.
  • Warm-up #33
    • Proofread the following:
    • Anayas memoir is about his grandfather, that was a wise, strong man.
    • The sub collected warm-ups 25-33.
  • Vocabulary
  • Composition
    • Write a rough draft and final draft of an essay that explains what your name means, why your parents chose that name for you, and how you feel about it.
    • The essay should be 100-200 words.
    • The final draft should be written neatly (or typed), double-spaced, and in blue or black ink.
  • Grammar
    • Using The Write Source books from under the desks, read and complete the activities on p. 678-81.

  • Test on Unit 9

AR PROJECT

  • Go to media center in order to work on project or take AR tests.

Wednesday–Warm-up #27, Reviewed vocabulary words 1-5 activities for unit 9, took test on Lincoln selections.  Homework: Vocabulary sentences w/ words 1-5.

Thursday–Warm-up #28, introduced vocab words 6-10, handed out study guide (riding-is-an-exercise-of-the-mind-study-guide.doc )for “Riding is an Exercise of the Mind” and read the story aloud in class.  Homework: Complete the Graphic Organizer worksheet for “Riding…” and do vocab activities for words 6-10 (CS-6, 8, 9, 14, & 18; and SA-3, 8, 9, 15, & 19)

Friday–Warm-up #29, reviewed words 6-10 and activities, discussed elements of the study guide and the graphic organizer worksheet for “Riding…”. Homework: sentences with words 6-10 on the same sheet as words 1-5.

  • Question #5

    James ordered a fishing rod, priced at $3.56. Unfortunately, James is an Eskimo who lives in a very remote part of Greenland and the import rules there forbid any package longer than 4 feet to be imported. The fishing rod was 4 feet and 1 inch, just a little too long, so how can the fishing rod be mailed to James without breaking the rules? Ideally James would like the fishing rod to arrive in one piece!
