HS 101

  • Ms. Wood gave you some good pointers on time management and preparation for the upcoming research project.

RESEARCH

  • We continued with the teaching presentations on the research skills on p. 343-350 in The Write Source.
  • We discussed more skills with  the works cited page and compiling note-cards.
  • We also looked at a powerpoint on some skills needed for checking the owner of websites:  www.easywhois.com
  • The assignment sheet for the research project was handed out and the topics were selected.
  • Time was allowed for the students to research their state in the almanac during class.

HOMEWORK

  • Remember that we are going to the media center tomorrow to continue our research.
  • Make sure you have your note-cards to record your information.

  • We skipped this today because we have a lot to cover with the research materials.

  • We will continue this today if we have time after discussing research skills.  If not, we will finish it tomorrow.

HOMEWORK

  • Bring your GCH book and note-cards tomorrow.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

HS 101:

  • Ms. Wood talked today about New Year’s Resolutions.  Hopefully, you have all resolved to improve your study habits and do your best in all of your classes from here on out.

WARM-UP #16:

  • “Everyone should do their best to help brothers and sisters.”

LITERATURE: 

  • Extra Credit Projects for TKAM were due today.
  • We reviewed TKAM. We didn’t get as far as I had hoped, so we’ll continue tomorrow where we left off and move the other assignment from today to tomorrow.

HOMEWORK: 

  • Bring your Grammar and Composition Handbook to class for the rest of this week.
  • Bring a pack of note-cards for the rest of the week.  You will need at least 30, but I would plan for 50 or more just in case.
