Wow. I am really behind. Happy Thanksgiving. Let’s recap.
Monday, Nov. 19 — Read 2 poems “Fog” and “in Just” and answered questions on each.
Tuesday, Nov. 20 — Test on 4 poems: “A Narrow Fellow in the Grass,” “When I Heard the Learn’d Astronomer,” “Fog,” and “in Just”, along with the poetic devices: line, stanza, meter, rhythm, rhyme, allusion, alliteration, approximate rhyme, and imagery
Monday, Nov. 26 — Issued the novel “To Kill a Mockingbird” which will be referred to from now on as TKAM for brevity’s sake. We also reviewed adjectives. Homework was to complete the activity on p. 111 of the Grammar and Composition Handbook.
Tuesday, Nov. 27 — Identified vocabulary for TKAM chapters 1-8 in the study guide for those chapters and created study aids for them. We began reading TKAM, ch. 1. Homework was to finish reading the chapter and complete the study guide.
Wednesday, Nov. 28 — We reviewed adjective forms of comparison. For more practice, see the Grammar and Composition Handbook, p. 112-114. We discussed chapter 1 and continued reading TKAM. Homework was to prepare for the adjective test tomorrow and to continue reading through chapter 4 of TKAM.
I hope this catches us up now. I’ll try to keep this more up to date in the future.
